我倒觉得错误那种译法断句没错，理由是and这个连词左右应该对等，句子框架为

若是按书中观点给出的正确译法，我觉得原文应该是
Prior to the twentieth century, women in novels were stereotypes of lacking any features that made them unique individuals and also being （或者 being also） subject to numerous restrictions imposed by male-dominated culture.

我不知道自己观点对不对，请教英语翻译专业人士。
