Acquire:
a) to gain something by your own efforts, ability or behavior
b) to obtain something by buying or being given it
多指经过努力逐步获得才能、知识、习惯等，也可用于对财物等的获得，该词强调\"一经获得就会长期持有\"的含义。
eg: It is through learning that the individual acquires many habitual ways of reacting to different situations.
正是通过学习，个人才得以获得应付各种情况的习惯做法。
eg: How did the gallery come to acquire so many Picassos?
这个画廊是怎么买到这么多毕加索的画像的？

Attain:
to succeed in getting something, usually after a lot of effort or to reach a particular age, level or condition
指经过不懈的努力获得的结果；也可指达到某一目标。
eg: The sales person attained his sales goal for the month.
这名销售员完成了当月的销售目标。

Obtain:
to get or buy something, especially by making an effort, used in formal language
获得，买到，用于正式语体中。
eg: He obtained the property with a bank loan.
他通过向银行贷款买下了那份房产。

Gain:
to obtain an advantage or benefit from something or from doing something
指通过较大努力获得某种利益或好处；亦可指军事上的武力夺取等。
eg: An investor gains via buying stocks that increase in value.
投资者通过所买股票价格上涨而得利润。

Earn:
a)  to get money for work that you do
挣得，指因工作等而得到报酬或待遇。
b) to get something that you deserve, usually because of something good you have done or because of the good qualities you have
赢得，博得，通常指通过自己的行为或者优良品质。
eg: How much do you earn a week?

Achieve:
a) to succeed in reaching a particular goal, status or standard, especially by making an effort for a long time
得到，获得，多指通过长期的努力而取得的成就、目标、幸福。
b) to succeed in doing something or causing something to happen
完成，实现某个人物或目标。
eg: He had finally achieved success.
他最终取得了成功。
eg: I haven\'t achieved very much today.
我今天并没有完成很多。

Secure:
If you secure something that you want or need, you obtain it, often after a lot of effort.
争取到，得到；把……拿到手，含有肯定占有难以得到的东西之意；使安全，保卫；作形容词比较常见，意为\"安全的\"。
eg: A million signatures have been secured.
已征集到了100万人的签名。
eg: Federal leaders continued their efforts to secure a ceasefire.
联邦政府的领导人们继续他们争取停火的努力。
eg: He secured the office before leaving it for the night.
他晚上离开前锁好了办公室的门窗。
