1，第三题，英文原文其实也是有with 的，但从语法上来讲，Bharat Tandon’s annotated edition of Emma being the most handsome.  是独立主格结构，无需with，原文作者这么写（有with）其实是不科学的，但由于这是改错语法考试，命题人故意把这个点弄出来，考察学生对这个语法点的掌握，故应去掉with。
补充一点，2013年的基英真题改错题的第九题也是类似的情况 :

原文就是proposes，但其实propose这个词第主语应该是人或机构，是有意识的主体来propose某一项bill，或决议什么的，因此bill 和 propose之间是被动关系，正确答案是把proposes改为proposed，所以2013年真题的这道题目和今年with这道题的思路是一样的，都是原文本身就有错或不科学，考生应更改过来。
2，第六题，大家都知道anthropology是不用定冠词的，但是同一行有两个the （其中一个是本行第一个），所以答题纸上应写“去掉第二个the”加以区别，否则就不准确。

第三题的with是完全正确的。从语法上来讲，所有的独立主格结构（absolute clause）前面都可以加上一个with。

给一条证据，源自 A Comprehensive Grammar of the English Language P 564(8.86)的一条例句：

With him being so bad-tempered, I was reluctant to tell him of the car accident.

这里前半句的him being so bad-tempered前面用不用with都可以，没有with就是一个独立主格结构，有with就是一个介词词组，不管哪一种都是充当状语成分。

如果第三行真地是这句话没错的话，是没有语法问题的！
