英文写作高分同义替换

在本文中，我会选取英文写作当中常见的同义替换进行讲解，所讲解的词汇表达为通用词汇或者话题词汇。虽然是同义替换，但是每个词在意思/搭配/使用语境等方面都会有一些细微的区别，不能随意进行替换。

1 非常/很(very)

highly、heavily、deeply、exceedingly这些词一般放在形容词/副词前。

①highly用在某些形容词前，表示程度很大。

highly likely/unlikely非常可能/不太可能 | highly successful很成功
②heavily在很大程度上。修饰带有动作性质的形容词。

heavily polluted rivers受污染严重的河流 | heavily addicted to online games高度沉迷网络游戏
③deeply多用于修饰人的主观情感。

deeply concerned about非常担心 | Teachers are deeply divided on this issue.老师们对此观点分歧很大。
④exceedingly相当于extremely，程度比very要大。

The crime rate is exceedingly high.犯罪类非常高。

2 非常/很(very much/a lot)

greatly、considerably、significantly这些程度副词修饰动词，放在动词前后。

①greatly相当于very much。

Housing prices have greatly increased in recent years.房价近些年涨幅很大。

Yuan Longping contributed greatly to modern agriculture.袁隆平对当代农业做出了巨大贡献。
②considerably/significantly常与比较级或表变化的词搭配。

The temperature is considerably higher today.如今的温度高了不少。

Conditions have improved considerably over the past few years.过去几年条件改善了不少。

Health problems can be significantly reduced by careful diet.可以通过小心饮食来显著减少健康问题。

3 富有的(rich/wealthy)

affluent、well-off、prosperous、privileged

①affluent和wealthy/rich可以互换。

affluent western countries富裕的西方国家 | today’s affluent society当今富裕的社会

②well-off只修饰人/家庭，强调生活质量高。well-off的比较级是better-off/better off。

children from well-off families富裕家庭的孩子 | The better off people become, the more time they spend on entertainment.人们越有钱，在娱乐上花费就越多。
③prosperous繁荣的，可以表示“富裕的”。常修饰人或地区/国家。

prosperous families富裕的家庭 | prosperous countries富裕的国家
④privileged表示非常有钱、社会地位高的。

Only the privileged few can afford private education.只有少数有钱有势的人才能负担地起私立教育。

4 贫穷的(poor)

impoverished、deprived、needy、disadvantaged

①impoverished=very poor。来源于使动词impoverish使...贫困。

impoverished peasants贫困的农民 | impoverished areas贫困地区
②deprived同样来自使动词：deprive剥夺；使丧失。

deprived children贫困儿童 | a deprived background贫困的出身
③needy只修饰人/家庭。the needy=the poor穷人。

a needy family贫困家庭 | We offer scholarships for needy students.我们为贫困学生提供助学金。
④disadvantaged弱势的；社会地位低下的。the disadvantaged表示弱势人群；贫困人群。

disadvantaged groups弱势群体 | students from disadvantaged backgrounds贫困学子

5 使用；利用(use)

take advantage of、utilise、employ、exploit、draw on

①take (full) advantage of=make good use of。

Students should take full advantage of their spare time to pursue their hobbies.学生应该利用闲暇时间培养兴趣。
②utilise相当于use，但是比use更加正式。utilise是英式拼写，美式写法为utilize。

We must learn to utilise the resources we have.我们必须学会利用所拥有的资源。

This room is mainly utilised for training purposes.这个房间主要被用作训练。
③employ表示使用某种方法/工具/技能。

The report examines teaching methods employed in the classroom.该报告研究了课堂中使用的教学方法。
④exploit表示充分有效地利用，或利用某事获利。

The new TV companies are exploiting the potential of satellite transmission.新的电视公司在充分利用卫星传输的潜力。

Top athletes are able to exploit their opponents’ weaknesses.顶级运动员会利用对手的弱点。
⑤draw on表示利用某种经验/知识/信息。

draw on personal experience利用个人经验 |

The report draws on several recent studies.该报告利用了最近几项研究。
